The autoclave weight (load plate) is a special accessory that helps securely fix containers inside the autoclave. It can be used for both jars and retort pouches to ensure they remain stable throughout the sterilization cycle.

Two-Part Construction

The autoclave weight consists of two parts working together to firmly hold the containers in place. The lower part is placed on the bottom of the autoclave, while the upper part presses the jars or retort pouches, preventing them from floating or shifting during heating.

The main purpose of the weight is to gently lower the containers and keep them stable.

The weight has a diameter of 295 mm and a weight of 3.3 kg, making it suitable for the majority of household autoclaves. These dimensions ensure sufficient pressure and ease of use.

Correct Water Level for Sterilization

For proper sterilization, it's important to maintain the correct water level. It should cover the weight and the containers by approximately 2 cm. This ensures even heat distribution and consistent results.
