Fish with vegetables cooked in an autoclave – is a combination of tender fish and juicy vegetables that not only creates an excellent taste but is also a very healthy dish. One of the most popular recipes is  hake in an autoclave. This fish with delicate white meat goes perfectly with vegetables and tomato paste. Canned fish in an autoclave retains all its beneficial properties for a long time, and most importantly, is a safe homemade preserve.  Fish in tomato in an autoclave is essential in home supplies, especially in the winter period when fresh products may be less available, and you will always have a ready-to-eat fish dish at hand that does not require long cooking. Hake in an autoclave is universal, it can be combined with various side dishes. But also fish in tomato tastes great as an independent full dish — just heat it and garnish with fresh herbs.

Ingredients for preparing hake in a jar

  • Hake1 kg
  • Tomato paste90 g
  • Bay leaf150 g
  • Onion300 g
  • Carrot300 g
  • Salt/Pepper
  • Sugar100 ml
  • Lemon1/2
  • Water250 ml

Step 1

Defrost the fish, cut off the fins, clean the hake from everything unnecessary, and cut it into small even pieces.

Prepare the marinade from tomato sauce: add tomato paste to a frying pan, 250 grams of water, grate and add garlic, and add a pinch of sugar. Bring to a boil and turn off.
