Step 1

Wash the beans, trim the ends. Cut long pods in half so they fit comfortably in the jars.

Cut the carrot and bell pepper into strips.

Layer in the jars: some beans, some pepper, some carrot — and so on up to the top.

Prepare the marinade: pour water into a pot, add chili sauce, vinegar, salt, sugar, and oil. Bring to a boil.
