Shakshuka Recipe

Shakshuka is a fragrant dish of eggs and vegetables from Arabic or Tunisian cuisine, combining vibrant flavors. In our recipe, we offer you to prepare and can a vegetable stew that will serve as a wonderful base for shakshuka. Just open a jar, add the contents to a pan with eggs, and enjoy a great breakfast.

The shakshuka recipe in the autoclave includes a mix of vegetables: bell peppers, onions, ginger, garlic, and peeled tomatoes. The dish is enriched with spices such as cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, and black pepper. The ready stew has a rich and spicy taste, making it perfect for preparing shakshuka later. The winter preparation from fresh vegetables turns out bright, aromatic, and delicious, and the canning in the autoclave preserves all the flavors for a long time.

With such a preparation, shakshuka can be made in just a few minutes whenever you want to prepare this dish; simply mix a jar of the ready vegetable stew with eggs in the pan to get a delicious dish for breakfast or lunch. It is best served with bread or toast.

Vegetable stew for shakshuka for 6 jars of 0.5 liters each.

Ingredients

  • Bell Pepper1.5 kg
  • Onion1 kg
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Canned Tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Cumin
  • Turmeric
  • Black Pepper
  • Sugar

Step 1

Clean and slice 1.5 kg of bell peppers and 1 kg of onions (enough for 4-6 jars).

Step 2

Mix spices: cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, black pepper, blend together.

Step 3

Layer ingredients in jars. Start with a layer of sliced peppers, then add onions. Repeat with more layers of peppers.

Step 4

Grate ginger and garlic finely. Add to jars.

Step 5

Evenly distribute blended spices into each jar, along with 7-10 g each of sugar and salt.

Step 6

Blend canned tomatoes. Pour tomato mixture (water and peeled tomatoes) into jars, leaving 2 cm from the top to allow for natural juice release from vegetables.

Step 7

Close jars with twist lids and place in autoclave. Cook shakshuka for 10 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius.

Step 8

Taste and adjust seasoning. Before opening, shake jars to mix contents well. Empty contents onto a skillet, add eggs and greens. Cover and simmer.
