Canned Corn Recipe

Canned corn with chicken in retort pouches — is a delicious, complete dish with a wonderful taste and long shelf life thanks to the autoclave. Sweet corn pairs perfectly with juicy chicken fillet, potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots, creating a balanced meal with hints of garlic and the spiciness of turmeric. The spices are selected to provide a mild but distinctive aroma. 

Canned corn in retort pouches is perfect as a hearty lunch or dinner: just heat the pouch contents — and the hot dish is ready to serve. Corn with chicken can be served as a standalone dish or as a base for various stews, soups, or porridges. Thanks to autoclaving, the dish retains all its nutrients and vitamins, and the retort pouch makes it easy to take with you on trips or keep it for when you need to quickly prepare food at home.

Corn for the winter, 4 retort pouches.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes300g
  • Carrots300g
  • Onion80-100g
  • Tomato100g
  • Corn cobs2 pcs
  • Chicken fillet2 pcs
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Sunflower oil30 ml

Step 1

Cut 300g of potatoes into cubes. Divide the potatoes into 4 prepared retort pouches.

Step 2

Cut 300g of carrots into the same size as the potatoes. Distribute evenly into all the pouches.

Step 3

Cut 80-100g of onion into small pieces and add 20g to each retort pouch.

Step 4

Cut 100g of tomatoes into cubes and divide them into the retort pouches as well.

Step 5

Peel 2 corn cobs and cut the kernels for our stew. Cut one corn cob into larger pieces for those who like to chew on the cobs.

Step 6

Add the corn to the retort pouches.

Step 7

Cut 2 chicken fillets into cubes and add them to the other ingredients in the retort pouches. Distribute evenly to ensure the pouches are easy to seal.

Step 8

Cut 2 cloves of garlic and distribute them into the pouches.

Step 9

Add the spices: pepper, salt, turmeric, and oil.

Step 10

Seal the retort pouches using a sealing machine. Always check that the pouches are well-sealed before cooking.

Step 11

Place the retort pouches with chicken and vegetables into the autoclave. Cook at 110°C for 30 minutes.

Step 12

Enjoy your chicken with vegetables and corn.
