An iron autoclave cannot be used for food processing and cannot be converted into a moonshine still. The main advantage is its price.

Stainless Steel – lifespan is unlimited, starting from 50 years. It is resistant to corrosion, requires no special care, and can be stored in any convenient place. Allows the use of various preservation methods, such as steam canning. Food-grade stainless steel enables the tank to be used for cooking outdoors or as a moonshine still, which is very convenient. Additionally, such an autoclave looks very aesthetically pleasing. The downside is the price. Stainless steel is not cheap, high-quality food-grade stainless steel is quite expensive, and the work involved is also valued highly!

Help with Selection:

Gas or External Heat – placed on a gas stove or an open fire. Requires constant presence and attention. During the process, you need to monitor the temperature and pressure. Follow the preservation time according to the instructions. Operates manually.
Price from 2,500 UAH.

Electric – operates from a 220V power supply. Has several main advantages in terms of convenience. No need to lift it onto a gas stove; it stands on the floor near an outlet. Automated process. The control unit will bring the autoclave to the required temperature, start the timer, maintain the duration, and turn off the autoclave from the network. Does not require your presence or attention. Additionally, this autoclave is versatile. It works both as an electric and a gas autoclave from an external heat source. Two in one.

Help with Selection:

We measure autoclaves by the number of half-liter jars, but you can load any jars, even up to three liters. When choosing, consider that the autoclave does not need to be fully loaded; you can put even one jar in the largest autoclave and it will work fine. The price difference between autoclave sizes is not significant, about 200-300 UAH. The most popular and commonly used model holds 24 jars, as it is a medium-sized option.
